چکیده

demand for water resources in different parts of the world, necessitate the use of wastewater. in using wastewater the soil health must be considered. this study was carried out at green space zob ahan in the years 1382 to 1385. in this study, the effects of urban and industrial wastewater irrigation on some chemical properties of soil for three years by using five different irrigation treatments were examined. the treatments were as follows: surface irrigation (fi), surface drip irrigation (sdi), subsurface drip irrigation in 30 cm depth (sdi30), sub surface drip irrigation in 60 cm depth (sdi60) and irrigation procedures babbler (bi). at the end of the experiments, solid samples were taken of the soil of zero to 30, 30 to 60 and 60 to 90 cm depth in order to measure the heavy metal. lead (pb), cadmium (cd), chromium (cr), nickel (ni), copper (cu), zinc (zn) and manganese (mn) were measured by using atomic absorption in soil samples. results showed that the density of heavy metals in urban and industrial wastewater is in an allowable range and heavy elements of soil are not limiting factor. and also concentration of heavy metals was higher in the zone of wastewater injection and as whole treatments sdi60 and bi respectively had the highest and least amounts of heavy metals.

long-term effects of different irrigation methods with treated wastewater on soil chemical properties

introduction: reuse of wastewater for agricultural irrigation is increasing due to an increased demand for water resources in different parts of the world. almost 70% of deviated water from rivers and pumped groundwater is used for agriculture. if wastewater is used for irrigation in agriculture, then the amount of discharged water from natural sources will be decreased and the flow of wastewat...

Accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals in lettuce grown in the soils contaminated with long-term wastewater irrigation.

Accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals (HMs) by crop plants from contaminated soils may pose health risks. A greenhouse pot experiment using lettuce (Lactuca satuva L.) as a representative vegetable was conducted to assess the concentrations of PAHs and HMs in vegetables grown in wastewater-contaminated soils. The concentrations of total PAHs were ranged from 1...

Geochemical Analysis of Soil Physicochemical Properties and Heavy Metals Content in the Long- term Wastewater-irrigated Soils

Exploring the homogenous regions for site specific management is important, especially in the areas under different anthropogenic activities. This was investigated using multi-way analysis including Factor Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering Analysis and k means in the areas under long-term wastewater irrigation over a period of more than 40 years, in Shahre Rey, south of Tehran. By using Factor ...

Long-term Irrigation with Dairy Factory Wastewater Influences Soil Quality

The effects of irrigation with dairy factory wastewater on soil properties were investigated at two sites that had received irrigation for > 60 years. Two adjoining paired sites that had never received DFE were also sampled as well as another seven fields from a wider area around the factory. In comparison with paired sites that had not received effluent, long-term wastewater irrigation resulte...

Effect of Municipal Wastewater on the Accumulation of Heavy Metals Cadmium and Lead in Soil and Corn

Background and Objective: Using wastewater as a renewable water source to irrigate plants is a safe and effective solution. In contrast, the accumulation of heavy elements in soil and plants is one of the concerns of the use of wastewater in agriculture. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of urban wastewater use on the most important physiological parameters related to the grow...
